Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for PS5 gets new trailer

PlayStation 5 owners - yes, they exist - will soon get the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, which brings the remastered versions of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy to Sony's powerhouse.

In the PlayStation blog, Sony has confirmed the launch of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for January 28th with a new action-packed trailer that shows off that the already amazing graphics look even better on PlayStation 5. 

The collection will have 3 graphic modes to choose from:

• Fidelity Mode - With 4k display, but with framerate locked at 30FPS.
• Performance Mode - An in-between, with 60FPS and a resolution between 4k and 1080p.
• Performance+ Mode - For those who don't want to miss a frame, this option guarantees 120FPS but with a 1080p resolution.

Naughty Dog also shares its feelings about the remaster:

When we collectively look at the arc of how we at Naughty Dog developed the Uncharted series over the years, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy are truly special for so many reasons. For example, U4 helped us achieve a substantial improvement in almost every aspect of our animation. Our richly detailed cinematics were now able to play real time, which helped pave the way for a seamless experience to and from gameplay. We also layered physics and procedural animations into our animations. All this helped create believable characters, tighter responsiveness, fluidity, and ability to respond to their environment, leading to a groundbreaking moment.

PlayStation 4 versions upgrades

The company also states that players who have already purchased Uncharted 4: A Thief's End & Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or the digital bundle including those titles on PS4, will be able to upgrade to the digital version of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection by paying a small sum when it becomes available on the 28th. On the other hand, PS Plus subscribers who claimed the PS4 version of these games through the digital service will not be eligible to upgrade them to the PS5 version.

At launch, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy astonished the industry with their cinematography and graphics that surpassed many games at the time.
