Tekken 8 showcases the new character Azucena and the return of Raven

Bandai Namco continues to promote the upcoming entry in their acclaimed fighting franchise ahead of the early 2024 release of Tekken 8. This time, the company has released two gameplay trailers: one featuring the newcomer Azucena and the other showcasing the ninja agent Raven.

Known as the "Coffee Queen," Azucena is an MMA fighter from Peru. She is the latest successor in the Ortiz family lineage, a family that manages a Peruvian coffee plantation. She has chosen to participate in The King of Iron Fist Tournament to promote the Ortiz Farm. Azucena employs movement inspired by Mixed Martial Arts, incorporating some unique techniques such as the Liberador. In this stance, she avoids opponents' attacks by instinct instead of blocking them.

Following his disappearance after the events of Tekken 6, Raven underwent rigorous training and returns even more formidable in Tekken 8. His style combines ninjutsu and powerful strikes, and his distinctive "Soul Field" stance provides players with a versatile arsenal. Using clones and teleportation, Raven masters the battlefield's rhythm. With his slick and stylish appearance, Raven is more ninja than ever.

While Raven's return is intriguing, it may not have surprised many players. A partial roster of Tekken 8 fighters leaked, including Raven, alongside characters like Alisa, Yoshimitsu, Shaheen, Zafina, and Steve. Among the confirmed fighters, we've already seen gameplay trailers for Kazuya, Jin, Law, King, Lars, and many other fan favorites.

The Saga of the Mishima and Kazama resumes
