Spiritfarer's next free update completes the story

The last free content update for Spiritfarer arrives next week, and it brings a couple of new characters that will give Stella and her cat Daffodil more things to do in the game. The Jackie & Daria update introduces the eponymous characters, a couple of spirits that you can befriend. As it happens with other spirits in the game, Stella will have to help them to fulfill their wishes so they can cross the Everdoor and reach the afterlife. After all, she is the ferryman in charge of accompanying them in their final journey.

Spiritfarer already includes a good number of spirits that you will have to convince to go in your boat. They reside on different islands that you can visit as you explore a vast ocean, and they will ask you for different things. All of their stories contribute to creating a relaxing experience that allows you to forge relationships with them while building and expanding your ship with the materials you gather. Spiritfarer is not a fast-paced platformer. Its Metroidvania gameplay style and a deep storyline are enough to deliver an unforgettable adventure where the journey is more important than the final destination.

The Jackie & Daria update will be the last free piece of content released for Spiritfarer. It will be available on December 13th, 2021, on PC and PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch consoles. Developer Thunder Lotus Games has not specified if they will be expanding the game beyond that with any paid DLC. Even those they are not really needed because Spiritfarer already offers a great adventure to those that want to relax while playing, many fans would probably welcome them.
