Sci-fi survival horror game Aftermath announced
After an endless stream of remakes and remasters, it’s always good to hear about new horror titles. Thankfully, we have one courtesy of developer One-o-One Games and publisher META. Aftermath is a narrative-driven survival horror game set in a post-apocalyptic future where the Earth has been devastated by what seems to be an alien invasion. Probably. It’s a bit difficult to tell with just this trailer, care of IGN:
We’re introduced to Charlie Gray, a successful astronaut and engineer who has seemingly abandoned her post in space to reunite with the only person that matters to her: her daughter Sammy. After a near-disastrous reentry and crash landing, Charlie is confronted by a wasteland of a planet, filled with vicious, horrific creatures and scenes of destruction. As Charlie, you have no choice but to wander the area in search of your daughter.
Like Alien: Isolation’s Amanda Ripley and Dead Space’s Isaac Clarke, Charlie isn’t a soldier but an engineer. Which may be more useful in the long run since she can analyze everyday items and create blueprints for tools she can use to survive. Apparently, you may also use these tools on a monster’s weak spots to kill it quickly.
Aftermath is also described as psychological horror where you have to take care of not just Charlie’s physical health but also her mental health. How this will come out remains to be seen, but one hopes it would be something along the lines of Silent Hill or Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which leaves players questioning what’s real and what's not.

Aftermath is built on the Unreal engine and features work by Alessandro Bavari, who designed the look of the 2018 horror film Suspiria. The game doesn’t have a launch date yet but is planned for release on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Watch this space for more news and the cheapest prices for Aftermath.
