PUBG Season 4 launches with a new story trailer
Playerunknown's Battlegrounds seems to be drifting away from the course that most Battle Royale are following. It's not that the game won't let you jump into the action straight away anymore or anything like that, but until now most games in the genre have not been interested in creating any sort of serious background for the world where they take place. At the start of its fourth season, PUBG is starting to give shape to the story of its world, and they show it in a new video that tells us the story of Erangel, the first map in the game.
The video serves as an introduction for the upcoming season that will start next week with the patch 4.1. This update will bring a lot of changes to PUBG, and the most noticeable one will be the graphic overhaul of Erangel map that is getting new buildings, various terrain changes and more visual changes that will help to illustrate the story of the area as the new video narrates it. The patch also includes an improved interface and balance pass on weapons and vehicles, as well as an update to the Matchmaking system aimed to reduce the excessive waiting times that players of some regions are experiencing when trying to join a PUBG match. You can watch the following video to know more about the changes and read the patch notes here.
The developers of Playerunknown's Battlegrounds are putting a lot of effort in trying to recover some of the ground lost in its struggle with Fortnite to be the top Battle Royale. It's true that the type of experience that they both deliver is completely different, but since pretty much every other game is getting a BR mode nowadays the competition in the genre is becoming increasingly difficult. Any kind of changes that differentiate you from the others while not taking away your essence could be worth it. It doesn't matter if you were the first one; if you don´t work hard for it, others are leaving you behind one way or another.
