New Knockout Tours and Photo Mode Features in Mario Kart World

Mario Kart World Version 1.7 adds new Knockout Tours
Updates & Patches

Nintendo has released the latest update for Mario Kart World, bringing the game to version 1.7.0 and introducing two new routes for its popular Knockout Tour mode, along with a range of gameplay improvements and quality-of-life additions.

Race to your heart's content

The headline feature of the update is the addition of Drill Rally and Boomerang Rally, expanding the number of Knockout Tour routes from eight to ten. The new rallies offer players fresh ways to experience the game's expansive interconnected world and can be unlocked after completing at least one existing Knockout Tour. Nintendo has also confirmed that more rally routes are planned for future updates.

Drill Rally takes racers across the eastern and northwestern sections of the map, featuring locations such as Wario Shipyard, DK Pass, Dandelion Depths, Mario Circuit, Dry Bones Burnout, and Bowser's Castle.

Meanwhile, Boomerang Rally follows a boomerang-shaped path through Salty Salty Speedway, Cheep Cheep Falls, Moo Moo Meadows, Choco Mountain, Mario Bros. Circuit, and Whistletop Summit.

Beyond the new races, version 1.7.0 enhances the game's Photo Mode by allowing players to place collected stickers onto their images. More than 1,000 stickers can now be used to customize screenshots, with support for both touch and mouse controls. The feature gives players additional creative options when sharing their in-game moments.

The update also includes several balance changes. Nintendo has improved acceleration for slower characters and vehicles, adjusted gliding speeds for certain racers, and refined item distribution in races and Knockout Tour events. Other tweaks include improved jump mechanics, longer dash times after landing on opponents, and new visibility for rivals carrying the Super Horn item.

In addition, version 1.7.0 introduces Thai language support and addresses a number of bugs, including issues affecting Time Trials and gliding performance.

The new update arrives as Nintendo continues to support Mario Kart World with free post-launch content after its initial success at launch. The promise of additional Knockout Tour routes suggests that the company plans to further expand one of the game's most celebrated modes in the months ahead.
