The cards represent the spells that you can cast while you play, and you will be able to unlock and enhance them by collecting fragments as you fight with creatures and complete quests while progressing through the game. You can build a "deck" combining a certain number of cards to create a specific set of powers for your character and modify it as you please to adapt it to your preferred playstyle.
