Gotham Knights finally gets release date

It’s been a long wait with several delays, but at last Warner Bros. has given Gotham Knights a release date: October 25, 2022.

After getting pushed back from 2021 to 2022, Bat fans feared that the game would be pushed back even further. But with the announcement, late as it is, we have something to look forward to.

Gotham Knights is an open-world, co-op action RPG that focuses on four of Batman’s proteges: Nightwing (Dick Grayson), Batgirl (Barbara Gordon), Red Hood (Jason Todd), and Robin (Tim Drake). The Bat-Family has been drawn together after the apparent deaths of Batman and Commissioner Gordon.

Apart from stealth, acrobatics, and martial arts, each character has a unique ability. Robin, for example, has hijacked Justice League tech to allow him to teleport short distances. The game features co-op multiplayer for two. And instead of the Batcave, it seems they’ll be operating from the Belfry, as pictured in the tweet.

Together, the Gotham Knights must face the city’s collection of criminals, including the Penguin and Mr. Freeze, who is shown in the gameplay trailer. However, their ultimate foe will be the mysterious Court of Owls, a plutocracy composed of Gotham’s wealthiest families, and who may be behind Batman’s early demise.

Despite its name,Gotham Knights is unrelated to the Arkham series of games. That honor goes to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which may be pushed back to next year. Rocksteady Studios, developers of Arkham, is also not producing Gotham Knights.

With the release of Gotham Knights, the upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and films The Batman, The Flash, and League of Super Pets, it’s a good time to be a Batman fan.
