New Forza Horizon 6 map makes exploration more fun
Forza Horizon 6 is already shaping up to be one of the most exciting racing games in years, and the recent map reveal has only made the anticipation grow. This time, the game takes players to Japan, a setting fans have been asking for a long time. From what we’ve seen so far, the new map is not just a change of location, but a big step forward in how the world is built and explored.
The biggest highlight of the reveal is how varied the map feels. You have busy city streets inspired by Tokyo, with tight turns, neon lights, and heavy traffic areas that look perfect for street racing. Then, just a short drive away, you can find mountain roads, forests, and even snowy regions in the Japanese Alps. The map is also said to be more vertical than before, meaning more elevation changes, winding roads, and a stronger sense of movement while driving.
Another interesting addition is how exploration works. Instead of seeing everything right away, parts of the map are hidden at the start and get revealed as you drive through them. This makes simply cruising around more rewarding, giving players a reason to explore every corner instead of just jumping between events.
A clear step up from Forza Horizon 5
If we compare this to Forza Horizon 5, the difference is easy to notice. The Mexico map in Forza Horizon 5 was large and beautiful, with deserts, jungles, and coastlines, but it often felt a bit too open in some areas. Long stretches of empty land were great for speed, but not always as engaging when you wanted more technical driving.
In contrast, Forza Horizon 6 seems to focus more on density and variety. The cities look more alive, the roads feel tighter, and the mix between urban and rural areas appears much more balanced. Instead of wide open spaces, you get more detailed environments that encourage different driving styles, whether you prefer drifting in the mountains or racing through city streets.
Overall, the new map looks like a smarter design rather than just a bigger one. It builds on what worked before but tries to fix what felt repetitive in the previous game.
With all these changes, Forza Horizon 6 is shaping up to offer a fresh experience while still keeping the fun that made the series popular. If you’re planning to jump in at launch, make sure to use our price comparison tool to find the best prices available for Forza Horizon 6.
