Final Fantasy XVI new trailer unveiled

The partnership between Square Enix and Sony remains strong, as demonstrated in the most recent State of Play. The long-awaited second trailer for Final Fantasy XVI, Square's flagship franchise, has been released. The trailer revealed more information about the gameplay, the world settings, characters, and a release date window.

Final Fantasy XVI second trailer details

In Final Fantasy XVI, we will follow the protagonist Clive in what seems to be the first single-player experience, that is, no party. According to Naoki Yoshida, producer of the game and director of Final Fantasy XIV, the sixteenth installment intends to bring back adults to the game and present a more mature theme. This could be seen in the Mature rating previously displayed on the official website.

Yoshida adds:

"My hope is that the adults who have grown up, understand the rules of society, and drifted away from Final Fantasy thinking, 'The real world isn't as easy as a video game,' can remember the enthusiasm they had back then. That's what we're keeping in mind as we make this game."

The first trailer highlighted the fantasy/medieval setting, bloodshed, political intrigue, the iconic summons from the series, and some of the characters. The second trailer went even deeper into what we can expect from the plot and details of the gameplay. Clive can swap the eikons to change his skillset, and apparently, we will be able to fight in massive combats of summon versus summon, as showed in the trailer.

As imagined by many and confirmed by Square Enix itself, Final Fantasy XVI is "quite action-oriented" but includes a story-focused mode.

The long-awaited sixteenth entry in the crystal saga arrives for PlayStation 5 in Summer 2023. The game will temporarily be exclusive to Sony's consoles and should arrive for PC and other platforms eventually.
Nothing to say a great game crushed by its own pay to win or pay to play even if you have already paid for the original copy of the game with access to the game everything that brings nice inside pity that to play it you must pay two or three times because they were not enough to sell you the original copy of your game which led them to ask you extra money for the dlc to play your game in full without more. a pity I for that reason I discredit it and do not give it very good rating.
