Paradox Interactive made one of the biggest splashes at Gamescom 2025's Opening Night Live by confirming the long-awaited release date for Europa Universalis V. The next chapter in the grand strategy series will arrive on November 4, 2025, developed by Paradox Tinto under the direction of Johan Andersson.

The announcement came with a brand-new trailer, giving fans a first proper look at how the Clausewitz engine is powering a more expansive and living simulation of world history. Set to begin in 1337, the game spans nearly five centuries of political intrigue, trade expansion, religious upheaval, and revolutionary conflict.

Paradox emphasized that Europa Universalis V aims to deliver a more dynamic and believable experience than its predecessors. Diplomacy is said to be deeper and more flexible, the economy has been overhauled with a greater focus on logistics, and military systems have been redesigned to give both veterans and newcomers more strategic options. These changes build upon the core appeal of the series, guiding one of hundreds of nations through centuries of transformation.

Two editions will be available at launch. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99, while the Premium Edition at $84.99 includes two upcoming chronicle packs, an immersion pack, and bonus cosmetics. Fans who pre-order either edition will also receive a digital copy of the original Europa Universalis IV soundtrack.
