Epic Games Store kicks off its latest giveaway with two premium games

The Epic Games Store has refreshed its weekly giveaway once again, bringing two more PC games to claim for free. Last week's offers, OTXO and Sol Cesto, have now been replaced by We Were Here Together and Beacon Pines, both of which can be permanently added to your library if you claim them within the next seven days.

Leading this week's lineup is Beacon Pines, a charming yet surprisingly eerie narrative adventure that unfolds like a storybook. You step into the shoes of Luka, a young boy investigating a series of strange events happening around his hometown alongside his friends. As you progress, you'll collect magical charms that unlock new dialogue choices and alter the story's direction, encouraging multiple playthroughs to uncover every possible ending.

Despite its cute visuals, Beacon Pines hides a much darker mystery beneath the surface. Players have embraced its unique storytelling, earning it an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam, with 97% of user reviews recommending the game.

The second freebie is We Were Here Together, a cooperative first-person puzzle adventure designed exclusively for two players. Set in the frozen wilderness of Antarctica, you and a partner must escape by solving asymmetrical puzzles while communicating through walkie-talkies. Since each player sees different clues and information, teamwork is just as important as puzzle-solving skills.

If the game sounds familiar, that's because Epic has actually given it away before. It previously appeared during the store's annual holiday promotion, but only for 24 hours, making it easy for many players to miss. This time around, you have a full week to add it to your collection.

Both giveaways are available until August 13, after which Epic will replace them with Monster Sanctuary and The Wandering Village, two titles the company has already confirmed for next week's promotion.

If you're looking to claim even more free games, it's also worth checking out Moonlighter, which is currently free on Steam for a limited time. Between Epic's latest giveaways and Steam's surprise freebie, it's a pretty good week for anyone looking to expand their PC game library without spending a cent.
