Often, we learn which game Epic is providing for free one week in advance. However, during the holiday season, Epic shrouds the game in secrecy; the images on the Epic Games Store display only a wrapped gift adorned with a bow.
Currently, the Epic Games Store is hosting its sixth mystery giveaway, and today it revealed Paradise Killer as the newest title. This follows the store's trend of providing well-regarded indie experiences. PC gamers can claim this latest offering and keep it permanently if they do so before the next game is made available tomorrow.
Created by Kaizen Game Works and initially launched in 2020, Paradise Killer presents an open-world adventure focused on solving a murder. Set on a strange, futuristic island where a society aims to resurrect alien deities, the main character, Lady Love Dies, is called upon to identify the murderer responsible for the deaths of the entire council.
Players can traverse the entire island, engage with witnesses, collect evidence, construct a case, and ideally identify the true culprit at the conclusion. This version of the game includes enhancements such as new music and characters, additional quests, skins, and more. It also supports DirectX 12, featuring ray tracing and upscaling technology from Nvidia and AMD.
Paradise Killer is available for free on the Epic Games Store for the next few hours. No one outside of Epic Games knows what the next free game will be. The upcoming mystery title will be unveiled and become accessible for all PC players at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET on December 23.
To date, the store has given away Hogwarts Legacy, Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel, Eternights, Blood West, and Sorry We're Closed, all for PC users to keep. The promotion will continue until December 31, with a new giveaway happening each day.
As always, be sure to visit our free games page and keep an eye out for upcoming titles and special offers.
