Deathwing is coming to Heroes of the Storm
Blizzard has revealed the upcoming character that is coming to their free-to-play MOBA, and it's no other than the dragon Deathwing, who caused the Cataclysm that changed Azeroth into what it is today in World of Warcraft. The huge dragon, Aspect of the Earth and protector of Azeroth before the was corrupted by the influence of the Old Gods, will arrive at the Nexus very soon to participate in battles along with many other heroes and villains from Blizzard's games.
Deathwing is not the first Aspect present in Heroes of the Storm. Alexstrasza, Queen of the Dragons and guardian of all life in Azeroth has been playable in the game for a while already. Still, she is mainly playable in human form, being able to transform into her dragon form for a limited period. This is not going to be the case for Deathwing who, despite being much bigger, will permanently be on his dragon form during the matches.
As a result of that, Deathwing will follow some special rules that make him a bit different from the other characters in Heroes of the Storm. He will not be able to ride any mounts, but he has access to a unique ability, Dragon Flight, which allows him to leave the map to recover health and armor and then land anywhere he vision in one of two forms, Destroyer or Worldbreaker. Destroyer form grants him a few powerful close combat melee skills that focus on dealing damage. His Worldbreaker form is still quite powerful but comes focuses on crowd control with skills that can slow and stun enemies. Both forms share the same heroic skill, Cataclysm, which allows Deathwing to take flight and burn everything under his wings, creating a field of molten destruction.
More details about Deathwing will be revealed soon, but considering its unique abilities, we expect that the new character will have quite an impact in Heroes of the Storm gameplay after it is available to the players.
