Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has reached a new commercial milestone, surpassing two million copies sold worldwide following the recent release of its PC version. The milestone reflects a notable boost driven by the game’s expansion beyond its original PlayStation audience.

Very good start on PC

The PC port made an immediate impact, moving close to half a million units within its first week on the platform. This rapid uptake significantly contributed to the game's overall performance, pushing total sales past the two million threshold when combined with its earlier success on PlayStation 5.

Originally launched as a console exclusive, the sequel spent several months building momentum before arriving on PC. The relatively short gap of less than a year between releases appears to have worked in the game's favor, allowing it to maintain visibility and capture a broader audience without losing post-launch momentum.

Estoy muy contento de ver que funciona tan bien. Ya me había encantado el primero por su ambiente único y su lado contemplativo y esta segunda entrega es aún mejor. No es un juego que intenta complacer a todo el mundo, y eso es precisamente lo que hace su fuerza. Verlo triunfar en PC demuestra que hay público para experiencias más lentas y reflexivas, lejos del ritmo frenético de los AAA clásicos
I am very happy to see it working so well. I had already loved the first one for its unique atmosphere and contemplative side and this second installment is even better. It's not a game that tries to please everyone, and that's precisely what makes it strong. Seeing it succeed on PC shows that there is an audience for slower, more thoughtful experiences, away from the frenetic pace of classic AAAs.

Questo successo su PC è soprattutto indicativo dell'evoluzione del mercato. Le esclusive console finiscono quasi tutte per arrivare su PC, e questo diventa una vera fonte di reddito supplementare per gli editori. Auch wenn ich finde, dass Death Stranding 2 auf dem PC gut funktioniert, muss ich zugeben, dass ich trotzdem eine Vorliebe für das erste habe. Es gab eine Entdeckungsseite, eine wirklich einzigartige Atmosphäre und ein Gefühl der Einsamkeit, das ich in dieser Suite weniger auffällig fand. Der zweite ist in einigen Aspekten ausgefeilter, aber er hat mich weniger überrascht. Ich habe auch den Eindruck, dass der "Neuheitseffekt" etwas nachgelassen hat. Wo der erste etwas wirklich Unerwartetes vorschlug, nimmt die Fortsetzung eine bereits bekannte Formel wieder auf, auch wenn sie verbessert wurde. Es bleibt ein sehr gutes Spiel
Even though I think Death Stranding 2 works well on PC, I have to admit that I still have a preference for the first one. There was an exploration side, a really unique atmosphere and a sense of loneliness that I found less noticeable in this suite. The second is more polished in some aspects, but it didn't surprise me as much. I also get the impression that the "novelty effect" has worn off a bit. Where the first suggested something truly unexpected, the sequel revisits an already familiar formula, even if it has been improved. It remains a very good game
