Civilization VII jumps into the VR universe
Civilization VII is still immersed in a certain drama due to offering a gameplay experience that is significantly different to its predecessors. However, Firaxis Games has shifted the attention of the community to a different matter by promising changes and making a very unexpected announcement. The Civilization series, which has been at the top of the strategy genre since the first game was released, will be available as a VR experience very soon. The developer studio announced it this weekend with an exciting video showcasing how gameplay would be via VR devices.
Dive into the world of Civilization VII VR
As shown in the video, you will be able to turn any room in your house into a map of the game where all the strategic action of the game can be enjoyed just as if you were standing inside a tabletop game of gigantic proportions. Combat will probably be the highlight of an experience that promises to be quite immersive, and whose development is more advanced than anyone would have expected. In the announcement, Firaxis Games confirms that the release of Civilization VII VR is scheduled for Spring 2025, which means that you will find the best deals to buy the game with our comparator soon enough.
The VR version of Civilization VII will be available on the Meta Quest 3 and Quest 3S platforms. This could have generated a certain controversy as the VR market has other options but it may not be a bad idea to release the game in a more limited environment, especially with the game still to bloom in terms of sales fully. The current state of the game, with mixed reviews on Steam ahead of the release date, doesn't seem to be ideal, but there is room for improvement, especially because Civilization VII, like previous games in the series, has an ambitious post-launch roadmap with several DLCs and content updates on the way.
Civilization VII will surely maintain the series among the most popular 4X video games despite the significant changes that it brings. Being able to enjoy the game as a VR experience will surely be quite appealing to the fans. If you can't wait to dive into the game, remember that the official release date is February 11 and check out the best discounts for Civilization VII with our comparator.
