Capcom keeps the Resident Evil remakes under control

Capcom has found in the release of remakes of the games in the Resident Evil series a great source of income. All the modern versions of old titles in the series have been a success, including Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3. The Japanese editor has everything ready for the upcoming release of the new Resident Evil 4, a remake that will bring Leon S. Kennedy is his attempt to rescue the daughter of the United States president from a group of deranged cultists. Plenty of fans are eagerly waiting to discover if the remake will be better than a game considered the less interesting in the series for its excessive focus on action. Capcom does not want that any other Resident Evil game can compete with it.

There were two other Resident Evil remakes in the works, but this time at the hands of fans. We are talking about Resident Evil: Code Veronica and the original Resident Evil, the first title in the series. Capcom has asked the community that was developing those projects to stop them because they do not want any kind of confusion. All this seems to be happening a bit too late, since the fan-made Code Veronica remake was almost ready to launch.

In any case, it's not strange if we consider the success that Capcom's Resident Evil remakes are having. The editor has stated that it does not has plans to launch those remakes anytime soon, but it has not closed the possibility of releasing them in the future. It's clear that it does not want that the attention from the fans is diverted from Resident Evil 4 to other games.

The remake of Resident Evil 4 will launch on March 24 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Brand new graphics and enhanced gameplay options should make the game much more interesting than the original.
