Assassin's Creed Mirage is a standalone experience

Assassin's Creed Mirage promises to revitalize one of the most iconic video game series of all time with a return to its origins. Developer Ubisoft has made it smaller than its predecessor and its focus will shift to assassination and stealth mechanics once more. The game is an adventure that sheds away all superfluous features to focus on delivering a more concentrated and immersive experience with a thrilling story at its core. Still, it intends to maintain all the historical accuracy that has distinguished the series since its beginnings, and it will allow you to explore the history of Baghdad.

No DLC

The creative director of Assassin's Creed Mirage, Stephane Boudon has confirmed in a recent AMA session on Reddit that the game is being created as a standalone adventure by leaving it very clear that Ubisoft Bordeaux has "no plans for DLC or extensive post-launch". Instead, the studio is working on delivering the best possible experience, with easy-to-grasp assassination mechanics that are not abusable (you can only trigger Assassination focus from outside combat), dynamic parkour movements that offer the best control over Basim, and more. Also, if you are one of those concerned about the quality of the graphics in Assassin's Creed Mirage after watching the walkthrough trailer, you can rest assured that the studio is currently working on improving it.

With a story that will have you entertained for between 15 and 30 hours, Assassin's Creed Mirage promises to offer an intense experience that the most seasoned fans of the series will appreciate as it will be much closer to the first Assassin's Creed games. Ubisoft is definitely not abandoning the franchise anytime soon. In fact, it intends to concentrate more resources on it.
