Assassin’s Creed Mirage expands with a free adventure

Ubisoft has announced a major free update for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, set to release today. The Title Update 1.1.0 brings a brand-new story expansion called Valley of Memory, along with several gameplay improvements and quality-of-life enhancements. The update is available to all players on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

A new adventure

Valley of Memory offers players a fresh narrative that takes place before the conclusion of the base game. Fans will follow Basim on a personal journey as he searches for his long-lost father, traveling to the ancient region of AlUla. The expansion promises over six hours of new content, including main missions, assassination contracts, side quests, and additional activities spread across this visually rich environment.

AlUla introduces two contrasting landscapes: the "Land of the Dead" and the "Land of the Living." Drawing inspiration from the Golden Age of the Abbasid Empire, the region combines historical depth with a visually striking design, providing both familiar and new areas for exploration.

Alongside the new story, Update 1.1.0 addresses long-standing community requests. The manual jump feature returns, giving players more control over parkour movements. This feature absent since Assassin’s Creed Unity. Additional parkour adjustments include customizable side and back movements, a modern control preset, and improved sprint camera mechanics. Main missions and contracts can now be replayed through the "Animus Sequences" system, offering new challenges and rewards.

The update also introduces two new difficulty levels for those seeking a tougher experience: Hardened Assassin and Ultimate Assassin. Players will find upgrades for tools and skills, including Level 3 enhancements for weapons like throwing knives and smoke bombs, along with a new skill called "Engineer 2."

To access the expansion, players should have reached or begun the "Head of the Snake" mission in the base game, but it's also possible to jump into Valley of Memory from the start menu. The patch size varies depending on platform, with around 22.6 GB on PS5 and 28 GB on PC.

Ubisoft's has listened to player feedback is clear, particularly with the return of classic parkour elements and the new replay options.
