Alan Wake Remastered is coming this fall

The possibility of a remake of the popular psychological horror adventure Alan Wake has been in the rumor mill for a long while. Remedy Entertainment launched the game back in 2012, and it became a hit thanks to its narrative and a different approach to survival horror that didn't quite fit into the premises of the genre. Alan Wake puts you in the shoes of the eponymous character, a best-selling crime novelist who is suffering from a bad case of writer's block. He moves to the peaceful town of Bright Falls along with his wife, looking for something that inspires him to continue writing, but the story takes an unexpected turn when his wife Alice disappears. To make things worse, he's been suffering nightmares that recreate events from his latest book, one that he does not remember writing.

The original Alan Wake did a good job combining a solid story with thrilling, action-packed gameplay that captivated the players. As a result, Remedy launched a sequel, Alan Wake's American Nightmare, that expanded the story in the original game with an even more convoluted plot. The fans of the Alan Wake series have been waiting to hear more from their favourite writer for quite a while now, and it seems that it will happen very soon. After receiving a lot of praise for Control, Remedy wants to focus on the old series again, if not to release a new instalment, at least to launch a remastered version that will let the fans enjoy Alan Wake's adventures with much better graphics.

When will Alan Wake Remastered be available?

Remedy has still to reveal a release date, but the studio has confirmed that Alan Wake Remastered will launch at some point this fall on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The new game will feature enhanced visuals in 4K. It will include the two chapters that were released as DLC for the original game, The Signal and The Writer, along with commentaries from the developers.
