Risk of Rain 2 announces its version 1.0

Available in Early Access for over a year now, Risk of Rain 2 was originally scheduled to release its final version in the spring, but Hoopoo Games has decided to postpone it. Indeed, in May we knew that Risk of Rain 2 would be released in August, and now we know the precise date since the developers have just announced it.  August 11 is the chosen date to release Risk of Rain 2 version 1.0 on PC.

The announcement was made on the official page of the game on Steam. You could think that this delay has something to do with the situation of the last few months, but when the developers announced the delay in May, they explained that it was not and that Risk of Rain 2 simply needed a little more polishing before revealing itself in its final version.

With the announcement of this release date, Hoopoo Games has used the opportunity to thank the players who participated in Early Access, and also talk about version 1.0 on consoles.

We’ve had great fun steering through Early Access together, and we will always be thankful for the patience and excitement our community has displayed. We will have more information on the Console launch of 1.0 in the future - but it should follow a very similar cadence to the previous console launches.

Risk of Rain 2 version 1.0 will obviously come with new content, including a new survivor, the Captain, a final level, and a final boss, but also a host of new items. Risk of Rain 2 is, like its predecessor Risk of Rain, a cooperative rogue-like playable by 1 to 5 players. Each level is different and randomly generated, so every game is unique. In addition, the more time the players spend on a level, to collect equipment for example, the more the difficulty increases.
