Iron Harvest changes history to offer us a mechanized version of the old war
It's hard to innovate in certain genres, pretty much because the basics that define them are set in stone, but sometimes a good idea is good enough to come up with quite an interesting game, and this is what happens with Iron Harvest. There are plenty of RTS games that are based on history and that offer you accurate representations of the war in certain periods. The Age of Empires series comes to mind as one of the first licenses in the genre that had a historical background, for example. In the case of Iron Harvest, the game offers an alternate scenario, where history has taken a different path.
What would have happened if the Great War would have served to push technological advancement beyond its limits in 1920? What if three of the factions involved in the war would have developed advanced mechanized war machinery able to rampage through the battlefield? That is exactly what happens in Iron Harvest, a real-time strategy game developed by King Art Games and published by Deep Silver that will put us in control of one of three factions who struggle to control the remains of a devastated Europe in the aftermath of the Great War.
Iron Harvest offers us classic RTS gameplay with every feature that you would expect in a modern game. The game features three engaging campaigns that will follow the story of several heroes through more than 20 different missions. You can play them solo or team up with a friend to play through them. Iron Harvest also features different gameplay modes, including competitive multiplayer with ranked games, and we can watch how those skirmishes look for the first time in a video recently published by Deep Silver. It shows hundreds of different units in battlefields where infantry and huge machines have to combine forces to fight the enemy.
If Iron Harvest is your type of game, it will be available on September 1st for PC and you can find it at the best price in our comparator.
