    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

If my Mind is copied into a new body, does the original body's Mind still retain its memories and experiences?
Yes. Each Mind copy retains a full, independent record of all experiences up to the point of the copy. Death of one copy doesn't affect any others.
Can I copy my Mind directly from within a virtual environment, or does it require a physical body?
Mind copying requires a physical body and the appropriate technology. Virtual environments are safe from Mind extraction.
How does the 'Mind Scan' ability work, and what information can I gather about a target?
Mind Scan allows you to briefly glimpse a target's recent memories. The depth and clarity of the memories depend on the target's mental fortitude and your own skills.
Is it possible to copy a Mind into a body that is already occupied by another Mind?
No. The Mind-copying process requires an empty vessel. Attempts to overwrite an existing Mind will fail.
If I am killed while in a virtual environment, does that trigger the loss of my Mind or other consequences?
No. Death in virtual environments is simulated, and has no impact on your physical Mind or body.
Can I copy my Mind into any type of body, or are there restrictions based on body type or condition?
You can copy your Mind into any compatible body. The condition of the body affects your performance and sensory experience, but is otherwise unrestricted.
What happens to the memories of a body after it's been 'erased' by a Mind copy?
The original body's memories are overwritten by the newly copied Mind. The previous memories are permanently lost.
Can I choose which memories are copied during a Mind transfer, or is the process complete?
The Mind-copying process is complete; all memories and experiences are transferred to the new copy.
How does 'Identity' factor into the gameplay and what risks are associated with it?
Identity represents your character's current legal and social standing. Engaging in actions that compromise your Identity can lead to restrictions, suspicion, and even pursuit by authorities.
If I die and my last Mind copy is damaged or inaccessible, is there any way to recover?
Yes. If your last copy is damaged beyond repair, you will respawn into a new body, but with all progress reset to a prior checkpoint. Recovering from a 'Total Wipe' requires a significant restart.
