Slay demons in Purgatory and sell their bodies to buy your way into Elysium in PERISH, a 1-4 player roguelite shooter. Play as a warrior who begins with nothing but a broken sword. Your only way into Elysium is by collecting danake, the coin of the underworld. To collect enough, you must fight and slay the Dismal Lords of Purgatory. Do you have the strength to complete this hellish quest?

The dark creatures of Purgatory are also searching for danake, just as you are. To save what collected, you must deposit your accumulated funds in the Pantheon. If you die before you can do so, you risk losing all your hard-earned money.

Navigate a mythical landscape that will chill the blood: the burning cliffs of Theseus, the corrupted temples of Orpheus, and the magma-infused pits of Hephaestus. Bring up to three friends to support and revive each other as needed. Spend your danake to purchase crowns and rings that will raise your stats and enhance your weapons. You need every advantage you can get to survive Purgatory. Are you ready to challenge hell itself in PERISH?

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the gold I earn in a previous run to buy weapons or upgrades before starting a new trial?
No. All gold and consumables are reset at the beginning of each trial, emphasizing the fleeting nature of your gains.
How does the 'Offering' mechanic work, and what determines its effectiveness?
Offering is the act of sacrificing your gold at altars. The quality of Offering is determined by the amount of gold you sacrifice. Higher Offerings may grant blessings, temporary buffs, or access to special items.
Does dying always result in a complete loss of progress, or are there any permanent upgrades or unlocks?
Death resets your in-trial progress, including weapons and gold. However, you can unlock new starting weapons and cosmetic items that will be available in future trials.
If I am playing with a friend, does the amount of gold we earn increase?
Yes. When playing co-op, the total amount of gold earned in a trial is increased for each player.
Are there any risks associated with using powerful weapons?
Yes. Some powerful weapons have drawbacks, such as reduced movement speed or consuming health. Understanding these risks is crucial for survival.
What happens if I try to revive a teammate, and I do not have enough gold?
You cannot revive a teammate without the required amount of gold. Carefully managing your gold and deciding when to revive is key.
Can I choose which blessings I receive from an Offering?
No, the blessings received from an Offering are randomized based on the amount of gold sacrificed and the specific altar. However, some altars may have a higher chance of specific blessings.
Are the maps and enemy spawns randomized with each trial?
Yes, both the map layouts and enemy spawns are procedurally generated for each trial, ensuring a unique experience every time.
What happens if I run out of gold during a trial?
You will be unable to purchase items, revive teammates, or make Offerings at altars. Strategic gold management is key to survival, so you will need to prioritize how you spend your gold.
Does the difficulty of the game scale with the number of players in co-op?
Yes, the game's difficulty dynamically adjusts based on the number of players, ensuring a challenging experience regardless of party size.
