    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I directly control the evolved creatures, or do I only influence their behavior?
You primarily influence the creatures' behavior through environmental manipulation and resource allocation. Direct control is limited to specific actions during key narrative moments.
How does the 'Symbiotic Evolution' mechanic work in terms of branching paths? Can I specialize certain creatures?
Symbiotic Evolution allows you to combine traits, leading to distinct creature specializations. The branching paths are determined by the combinations you choose, affecting their roles and abilities within the ecosystem.
If I fail to protect a particular creature type from environmental hazards, will they become extinct, or can they recover?
Creature populations can decline due to hazards, but extinction is usually a gradual process. You'll have opportunities to revive them through careful management of resources and environment.
What is the consequence of consuming all the available resources in a specific biome, and how does it affect the creatures?
Depleting a biome's resources will lead to starvation, disease, and potentially migration or extinction of creatures dependent on those resources. The ecosystem's stability will be severely impacted.
Are the environmental challenges fixed, or do they change dynamically based on my choices?
Environmental challenges adapt based on your actions and the choices you make during the game. Some are predetermined, but many are influenced by the state of your evolving ecosystem.
How does the game balance the needs of different creatures with potentially conflicting environmental requirements?
The game challenges you to find compromises and optimize resource distribution. Balancing competing needs often requires strategic trade-offs and careful terraforming.
Can I 'undo' evolutionary choices, or are they permanent once implemented?
Some evolutionary choices have lasting effects. While you cannot fully 'undo' choices, the game provides opportunities to adapt and evolve in new directions, mitigating any negative impacts of prior decisions.
How does the game visually represent the symbiotic relationships between the creatures and their environment?
The game uses visual cues, such as color-coding and dynamic environmental effects, to represent the complex interplay between creatures, resources, and environmental factors.
Is there a 'victory' condition, or is the gameplay primarily focused on long-term ecosystem management and survival?
The game focuses on long-term ecosystem management, with narrative goals that evolve alongside your ecosystem. The experience emphasizes continuous evolution and adaptation.
How are resources generated and what are some of the actions I can take to increase or decrease the availability of these resources?
Resources are generated based on the environment's health, and are affected by your terraforming and creature choices. Actions include planting specific vegetation, controlling population sizes, and introducing new elements.
