Everyone’s favorite cosmic entity battles to save reality in Cthulhu Saves the World, a wacky 8-bit RPG from the makers of Breath of Death VII. A tongue-in-cheek look at RPGs, the game follows the Great Old One himself, Cthulhu, as the unlikely hero on a grand quest. Though destined to end the world, his powers have been stolen by a powerful wizard, and the only way to lift the curse is to become a hero. In order to destroy the world, he first has to save it!

Without your powers, you need more than yourself to fulfill your quest and fight against zombies and dragons. Travel from town to town and gather up other heroes to fight beside you, such as the Red Mage Umi, the sentient sword Sharpe, the gothic Black Mage October, the alien cat Paws, the ancient and senile White Mage Dacre, and a reformed demon-dragon, Ember. 

Engage your enemy in turn-based combat. Use magic or melee prowess to take them down, gain XP, and increase your level. As Cthulhu, you can even drive them to madness. Be careful—with each turn that passes, your enemies grow incrementally stronger, so it’s in your best interest to defeat them quickly. 

You can also play Cthulhu Saves the World in various modes of difficulty. Highlander mode lets you play each combat with only one character, while Cthulhu’s Angels mode gives you new characters, bosses, and dialogue for a whole new game. It’s so fun it’s maddening!
