Build a colony on a far-off world in Stranded: Alien Dawn. A 3D colony simulator that blends Rimworld with The Sims, you must help a group of shipwrecked survivors stay alive on an unknown and hostile planet.

Your band of cosmonauts struggles from the wreckage of their spaceship to be confronted by an expansive and beautiful world filled with savage creatures, unpredictable weather, and few resources to spare. You must do everything you can to help this motley crew survive.

Build a colony with shelter and a farm to meet your food supply. Start with rudimentary shelters, then work your way up to a hi-tech facility with a defensive perimeter and turrets. Research the planet’s flora and fauna so you can cultivate them as a food source. Soon you will have a stockpile of resources to keep you afloat through the most difficult times.

Not all wildlife will be friendly. You will have to defend your settlement against hordes of crawling aliens, so it will be essential to craft weapons. Start with crude spears and advance to energy weapons by scavenging materials from your fallen ship. Eventually, you can build generators, hot air balloons, and even a space pad.

Your survivors aren’t robots—they are people with backstories, needs, and personalities. You must care for their physical and mental well-being by providing shelter, food, clothing, and entertainment. Fail to keep the balance and you’ll quickly find conflicts breaking out between survivors.

Every playthrough of Stranded: Alien Dawn is unique as you randomly spawn on a different part of the planet with a new group of survivors. Do you have the will to not just survive in this new world, but thrive as well?

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I directly control colonists during combat, or is the combat fully automated?
You can issue commands to colonists, such as targeting specific enemies or moving to cover, but the actual combat execution is simulated based on factors like weapon stats, skill levels, and cover effectiveness.
How does the alien wildlife hunting mechanic work, and what are the risks involved?
Colonists can hunt wildlife for food and resources. Risks include hostile alien creatures, environmental hazards, and potential for injury or death of the hunting party. The success of the hunt depends on the hunter's skills, weapon used, and the animal's aggression.
What is the primary method for researching new technologies?
Research is conducted at research stations, and it's driven by gathering the necessary resources and assigning colonists with the appropriate skill to complete projects. The availability of research depends upon the technologies discovered and available resources.
How do I manage the mental states of my colonists, and what impact does their well-being have?
Colonists' mental states are influenced by various factors like living conditions, work environment, and social interactions. Negative mental states can lead to breakdowns and decreased efficiency, while positive states boost productivity and happiness.
What kind of base-building options are available, and how does the environment affect base design?
You can construct various buildings, from basic shelters to advanced facilities. The environment impacts base design through terrain limitations, resource availability, and the need to protect against weather and alien threats.
How does the game handle the seasons and the resulting impact on resource gathering and survival?
Seasons bring changes in temperature, resource availability (e.g., growing seasons for crops), and the types of environmental hazards encountered. Planning for seasonal shifts is crucial for survival.
What are the ways to mitigate or prevent diseases and injuries among the colonists?
Colonists' health depends on many factors, like access to food, medicine, and hygiene. Building medical facilities, maintaining proper sanitation, and providing rest can prevent disease and injuries.
Can colonists form relationships with each other, and how do these relationships impact their behavior?
Yes, colonists can develop relationships. Positive relationships boost morale and cooperation, while negative relationships can lead to conflicts and decreased efficiency.
How does the game handle energy production and consumption within the base?
You'll need to generate power using various methods (e.g., solar panels, wind turbines) to run your base's infrastructure. Managing power consumption is essential to avoid blackouts and resource shortages.
What are the victory conditions, and what are the primary challenges that must be overcome to succeed?
Victory conditions vary depending on the chosen scenario. Common challenges include surviving environmental hazards, managing resources, defending against alien threats, and maintaining the colonists' well-being.
