Turn the Red Planet into a paradise with Terraformers, a civ-style city-builder. Send humans to Mars and start a colony with ambitious designs.

Search the sands for rich mineral deposits. Discover incredible natural wonders, including crystal caves, enormous volcanoes, and more. Establish your colony in craters or caves created by lava. Start collecting exotic rare minerals that will help your people survive and thrive.

Of course, to advance further, you have to change the surface of Mars itself. Restart volcanoes to adjust the gasses in the atmosphere, establish satellite mirrors to raise energy levels, and crash ice asteroids into the planet to introduce liquid water. You can even introduce bacteria to grow plants and even entire forested areas. Provide for the needs of each life form you introduce to Mars, and soon you’ll have a thriving ecosystem.

Mars can be a haven if you design it right. Pick up Terraformers and try your hand at building a paradise on the Red Planet.

    FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use multiple species' abilities on a single planet, and if so, how does that work?
Yes, you can. Abilities from different species combine, but you can only trigger abilities once per species per round. The order in which you use them affects the outcome.
If I terraform a planet into a specific type, but another player later places a colony there, do I lose my terraforming progress?
No, your terraforming progress remains. The game tracks each player's influence and the planet's characteristics independently, creating a dynamic environment.
How does the 'Global Events' mechanic impact a game, and how can I mitigate its effects?
Global Events introduce unpredictable effects that impact all players. Mitigating these requires adapting your strategy, utilizing special species abilities, and carefully choosing actions that counteract the event's negative effects.
Can I strategically 'sabotage' another player's terraforming efforts, and how would I do that?
Yes. Certain species abilities and action cards allow you to disrupt other players' terraforming progress. This might involve changing a planet's type or removing terraforming markers.
How important is the timing of when I place a colony versus terraforming a planet?
Timing is crucial. Placing a colony too early might allow opponents to benefit from your terraforming. Too late, and the planet may become unavailable. It depends on your species abilities and overall strategy.
What is the significance of the 'Research' action and how does it advance my game strategy?
Research allows you to gain access to advanced technologies, new actions, and powerful abilities specific to your chosen species. It provides long-term strategic advantages.
How does the game handle planets with multiple species colonies on them?
Planets can have multiple colonies. The game uses a scoring system that considers both the planet's characteristics and the species present. The scoring is calculated at the end of the game.
Is there a mechanism to protect my colonies from being targeted by other players?
While there isn't direct protection, the game allows for strategic planning. Species abilities, actions, and planet selection can indirectly protect your colonies.
How does the 'End Game' trigger work, and how does it affect the final scoring?
The end game is triggered when a certain number of planets are fully terraformed or when a specific condition, determined by the game's setup, is met. Final scoring considers all the progress made up to that point.
Can I change my species during the game, or am I locked into my initial choice?
You are locked into your initial species choice throughout the game. The unique abilities and scoring conditions of your chosen species define your overall strategy.
