In Beacon, Freja Akijama is an interstellar mercenary whose ship has crashed onto an unknown planet. The ship's distress beacon is lost after the accident, and she needs to find it if she wants to escape this piece of rock. But her problems do not stop there. The Clone Bay of the ship is stuck in an automatic printing cycle, which is not so bad considering that she will probably die while exploring the surface of the planet. 

Freja will have to fight against strange creatures as she tries to find the distress beacon to call for help and get rescued. She can collect DNA samples from the creatures she defeats. These will prove to be quite useful, as she can use them to alter her own genome every time a new clone is created. With each mutation, she gains extraordinary powers that will be of great help in her quest. 

Krovus-18 is a planet populated by five different alien factions. Each of them possesses different technologies and weapons that Freja can collect in order to empower herself. By combining these weapons with the additional powers gained from mutating, her clones will have an almost endless number of configurations to use in combat.

Beacon is a challenging rogue-like shooter able to satisfy any seasoned fan of the genre. The only question is, how much of her humanity will Freja sacrifice to escape from Krovus-18?
