Songs of Conquest is a turn-based strategy game inspired by some of the great classics of the genre. It follows the steps of Heroes of Might and Magic very closely, but it has a completely different art style and includes some new features. The game puts you in the shoes of a powerful mage immersed in a conflict between four powerful factions: the knights of Arleon, the ancient tribes of Rana, the necromancers of Loth, and the mercenaries of Barya.

Your adventure in Songs of Conquest begins with you controlling a small settlement that you can expand with new buildings. These are the source of different types of troops that will shape your armies. As you explore the surrounding territories, you will gather resources, find treasures and artifacts, and also fight against hordes of monsters. You will also find other towns that you can conquer to expand your territory.

Each faction has access to different troops, which specialize in a certain type of combat. You can combine their abilities on the battlefield to destroy your opponents. The battles take place on a map divided by a hexagonal grid where you and your opponents deploy your troops and command them by turns. One novelty in this area is that the cells can have different heights, and your troops can get bonuses in combat if they get the high ground.

Songs of Conquest features different campaigns, but you can also face other players in online and local matches. The game also includes a complete editor that allows you to create your own maps, which you can use in your games later.
