Being completely open-ended, Geneforge 1 - Mutagen gives players complete freedom to choose how the story will go and how events play out. You can use your spells to make short work of your enemies. You can create your very own creatures to obey your commands. You can choose a pacifist route that relies on diplomacy, deceit, and stealth. By raising your Mechanics stat, you can bypass traps or locked doors. The island itself gives you the freedom to choose and explore in a non-linear fashion. You can join or fight any faction. You can fight the bad guys or even ally with them. It’s completely up to you.
