Welcome to The Good Life! You play as the American photojournalist Naomi Hayward who, plagued by money troubles, takes on a job from the Morning Bell newspaper to do a piece on Rainy Woods, a charming little English town that has been dubbed “the happiest in the world”. It’s not the best job, but beggars can’t be choosers. Before long, Naomi finds herself entangled in a real supernatural mystery when she discovers that at night, the residents all turn into cats and dogs. To her shock, she can turn into an animal herself!
Animal instincts. Naomi now must use all of her newfound animal abilities to solve the mysteries of Rainy Woods. Track down people using your dog form’s sharp smell, or use your nimble cat skills to jump and climb.
Take part in town life. Get to know the folks in Rainy Springs and learn their stories. Fulfill side quests, or just enjoy life by planting your own garden, drinking with the locals, and exploring the wilderness. Discover beautiful plains, waystones, and strange ruins as you wander.
It’s a living. Since Naomi starts out with enormous debt, you have to work your way out of it. Use your camera to take pictures for your newspaper and fulfill commissions. Or make money through the social media app Flamingo. Or get a part-time job in the town itself.
