Spacebase Startopia is a new sci-fi management sim based on the 2001's Startopia. Lead a rundown, disused space station and bring it back to life as the biggest interstellar hub for trade and tourism in the 10-mission single-player campaign.
The base itself is divided up into three decks, each serving a different purpose. Your Sub deck contains all that is required to keep things running aboard the station, like recycling plants or hospitals, while the bio deck is where you grow all the natural resources required to keep everyone alive as well as a home to the graceful Dryads. It can be terraformed to meet the needs of all your alien visitors. Between the two, is the Fun Deck, which focuses on all kinds of leisure services.
Visitors are good to spend money in your resort area, but if you want to become rich, you have to attract traders. Build industries to supply with goods each alien species, or sabotage your enemies and competitors with your mechs. You have direct control of them and real-time combat is just another nice form to get rid of the opportunistic pirates that sometimes try to invade your space station.
In addition to the extensive single-player campaign, there are other options like an individually configurable sandbox mode as well as both a competitive and a cooperative multiplayer mode for up to four players.
