In 2638, two years after the Alien Wars had ended, a mysterious area called the Damned City arose from the grounds where the final battles took place. Ruthless fiends roamed the area, and people went mad just from being there. But not all is lost, in the chaos, the Rogue Corps come forward. The former military group of bounty hunters and treasure finders do not look anything like heroes of justice but have they come to save humanity, or maybe they are looking to hit the jackpot by searching the Damned City for treasures... The game features Local and Online CO-OP action for up to 4 players, action-packed battles, customizable gear, gigantic bosses and explosive multiplayer action. You can assume the role of four classic Contra series characters: Kaiser, a rebuilt cyborg from The Alien Wars, Ms. Harakiri, an assassin with a parasitic alien attached, The Gentleman, a well-cultured alien bug, and Hungry Beast, a brilliantly scientific cyborg giant panda, each with their own weird style and colourful attitude. Build over 100 weapons and augment your character with bionic body parts earned in-mission as you progress your character and encounter crazy new heroes and big bosses join the Contra universe.
Contra: Rogue Corps takes a top-down isometric view that moves away from the 2D platform style of the classic games in the series. Players will be able to swap between two different customizable weapons that have unlimited ammo but will overheat, forcing players to let them cool down for a while before they continue shooting.
