After the huge success of The Surge, here comes the sequel The Surge 2. Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13 made the announcement of renewing their partnership to develop this new installment. The Surge 2 is scheduled to launch this year.
The gameplay of The Surge 2 is similar to its predecessor's. It features a hardcore combat system and a unique and deep character progression. The game will be set in a new environment, a sprawling and ruined city, with more ambiguous level designs, and an upgraded and improved engine.
The main location will be Jericho City, a massive and futuristic metropolis where rulers have used technology to their advantage creating an illusion of beauty. This is a stark difference from The Surge's industrial factory floors.
The Surge 2 will have a more brutal and tactical combat system compared to the previous title. There also will be more abilities, implants, drones, and weapons available for players. This will give the players a huge arsenal to build their character with. They can also fight against the most dangerous enemies and big bosses in the game. As for the story, it will pick up months after the events in the first game. The transition from the previous game to this one will be easier for the old players.
