Fans eager to relive one of the most beloved entries in the Dynasty Warriors franchise will need to wait a little longer. Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have officially delayed Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered, pushing it back from its previously announced March 19, 2026 release date. At the time of writing, no new launch window has been confirmed.
The announcement was shared via social media, accompanied by a statement from producer Tomohiko Sho, who emphasized that the decision was made to ensure the remaster meets fan expectations. As the first full remaster in the long-running Dynasty Warriors series, the development team wants to deliver a version that truly does justice to the original rather than rushing it out the door.
Sho explained that the delay will allow the team to further refine the game’s overall quality, adding that more information—including a new release date—will be revealed at a later time. While delays are never welcome news, the message suggests that Omega Force is taking player feedback and nostalgia seriously, especially given the legacy attached to this specific title.

Originally released in 2001 on PlayStation 2 and later on Xbox, Dynasty Warriors 3 is often regarded as one of the strongest entries in the franchise. It introduced several mechanics that would become series staples, including True Musou Attacks and co-op gameplay, and it was the first Dynasty Warriors game to surpass one million copies sold.
Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered will include both the base game and the Xtreme Legends expansion, offering more than 40 playable officers and the large-scale hack-and-slash battles the series is known for. The remaster is currently planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch, including Switch 2 support.
Despite the delay, Koei Tecmo still has a packed release schedule, with titles like Nioh 3 and Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake arriving in the coming months. That context makes the decision to delay Dynasty Warriors 3: Complete Edition Remastered feel more like a quality-first move than a sign of trouble.
