    Plague Tale: Innocence is set in the year 1349 when France was taken over by the Hundred Years’ War and the Great Plague. Players follow the lives of the siblings Amicia and Hugo while they join other kids as they run away from the Inquisition soldiers. Their experience is next to impossible to bear as they try to live in a dirty environment infested with rats . Amicia and Hugo must trust each other to survive; they will have to fight and find their purpose amid their dire circumstances. They witness the struggle and horror of their surroundings and with the good days gone, so is their innocence.

    Gameplay

    Players will face a series of survival puzzles and will look for ways to scare the hungry rats away. Rats fear fire and won’t enter within a radius of burning torches and braziers. Players take control of Amicia; she uses a sling and throws rocks to break drawbridge chains and stun guards. She also creates special ammunition and supplies including fire-starting sulfur stones. Hugo can be directed towards specific tasks when Amicia is busy.

    If you are inherently scared of rats, then this game will drain the blood out of you. Make sure you can stomach the terrible stench that you can almost smell from your screen.
