Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the star of the latest Nintendo Direct

Six heroes to bring back peace to the world

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an action RPG developed by Monolith Soft that is coming to Nintendo Switch next month. The third installment of this fantasy series is set in the world of Aionios after the events in Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Keves and Agnus are two warring countries with very different societies. While Keves is a firm defender of mechanical technology, the citizens of Agnus focus on the use of Ether. Both countries use genetically engineered soldiers with a short lifespan as shock troops in their battles. In Xenoblade Chronicles 3, you will follow the story of two "off-seers", Noah and Mio, who are special soldiers in charge of mourning the passing of the dead with their music. Accompanied by four other heroes, they will embark on a quest to find what's behind the origin of the war after being declared fugitives by their respective nations.

On the gameplay side, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 lays at your feet a sprawling world for you to explore. Beautiful landscapes, dangerous enemies, and a new combat system await you in this epic adventure. The game brings many innovations to the battles, as you can now field a total of seven characters in combat. You control one character at a time, but you can swap it with any other party member at any time. Each character is specialized in a certain field, and you can combine their unique abilities however you see fit, and specific pairs of characters can fuse together into an Ouroboros, to gain even more powerful moves. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 reminisces the games in the Final Fantasy series, but it offers you a unique universe and a more strategic approach to combat.
