Witchfire explodes onto the scene with spellcraft trailer
During the Future Games Show Spring Showcase, Polish game developer The Astronauts featured a trailer for Witchfire, their latest FPS. Narrated by designer Karol Krok, the trailer details their extensive magic system. Check out the Witchfire trailer here:
Witchfire is set in a grimdark alternate world where witches are an especially dangerous and monstrous race. But as a witch hunter, you’re an equally lethal adversary, hunting witches in the name of the Holy Church. As a warrior for the Vatican, you must wipe out the witches before they do it to the rest of the world.
Hunting season of the witch
Players may employ a variety of handguns and rifles in Witchfire, but a large part of combat is devoted to magic. You can cast spells, hexes, and curses on your enemies.
According to the press release:
“Ultimately, the wide variety of spellcraft available to the witch hunters is just as vital as their arsenal of guns, and both will be crucial for any soul brave enough to conquer the Land of the Witch.”
Spells rely on your character’s stamina and are divided between light and heavy types. Light spells cost less stamina and are quicker to cast, while Heavy types are slower but do more damage. Aside from this, spells are also grouped into the four classical elements. Fire spells do damage over time. Water spells can freeze enemies, and air spells can zap them with lightning, stunning them for a short while. Elemental spells also interact with each other if cast in quick succession.
There is no definite release date yet for Witchfire, but it will go to Early Access exclusively in Epic Games Store this year before coming to Steam and consoles. Keep an eye out for a Witchfire PC key cheap from our comparator.
