Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, new information available!
The long-anticipated sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines casts you into the foggy streets of Seattle as a thin-blooded vampire hungry for blood and answers. Players will be able to choose from three Thinblood disciplines to start out in Bloodlines 2, as revealed in a press release Wednesday from publisher Paradox Interactive.
At the start of Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines 2, we'll be playing a newly-embraced Thinblood, a second-class member of the vampire world. They're not really liked and they're weaker than the full-blooded vampires that belong to the various clans. We'll be able to join them, but we always will be "weaker". While Thinbloods aren't popular — they're seen as a source of trouble — Seattle's leadership has been "uncharacteristically tolerant" with them. The Camarilla has recently taken control, so maybe that will change things, but Thinbloods are still able to rub shoulders with important vampires and hang out in vampire high society. Unfortunately, they're still treated pretty poorly compared to clan members.
At first, new vampires will have one of three Thinblood disciplines to choose from, but joining one of the five clans will also unlock more abilities and upgrades. These are your options:
Chiropteran Thinbloods have a “strong affinity for bats,” which allows them to glide through the air briefly, reaching new areas or knocking over non-playable characters. They are also able to summon swarms of bats at will to attack and eventually they are able to protect themselves behind a wall of bats.
Mentalism Thinbloods can use telekinesis, meaning they can manipulate objects and weapons with the power of their mind. Their second power is the ability to levitate, they can suspend a person in the air, and eventually even more than one person. When their power grows, mentalism allows them to levitate everything in surrounding areas and they can use the ability to throw enemies around.
Nebulation Thinbloods can use mist in various ways. They can summon a mist shroud to muffle noisy footsteps and reduce visibility to sneak around more effectively. These Thinbloods can also partly change into a mist cloud to choke enemies and travel through tight spaces in the world of Bloodlines 2. Their second power, Envelop, allows the player to create a vortex of mist that surrounds, blinds and chokes every enemy it touches.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is a sequel to the 2004 cult classic and it will arrive in 2020 on PC and consoles.
