The Rogue Prince of Persia has been announced
A few days ago we commented on a rumor saying that the developer of Dead Cells would be working on a new Prince of Persia game. It turns out that rumours were not 100% accurate as The Rogue Prince of Persia was announced yesterday by Ubisoft and the game is under development by Evil Empire. It's quite surprising that Ubisoft has left the development of the game in the hands of an external studio but the studio choice will surely appeal to the fans of the roguelike genre. Evil Empire is in charge of creating the game, and the name should be very familiar to the fans of Dead Cells, as it's the studio in charge of developing DLCs for the iconic roguelike game.
A new Prince of Persia
It's also surprising that Ubisoft has not decided to further push Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown further with even more content since the upcoming release of The Rogue Prince of Persia may divert the attention of the fans. In any case, the publisher has revealed the upcoming game with a thrilling video that emphasizes a combination of platforming and action mechanics in a 2D sidescroller that looks like a fast-paced and modern version of the classic Prince of Persia. Colourful graphics and a new and appealing art style complete a refreshing look for the new installment in the Prince of Persia franchise.
Ubisoft will surely reveal more details about the game in the coming weeks, especially about its roguelite mechanics. The release of The Rogue Prince of Persia is scheduled for next month on Steam via Early Access. As usual, you will find the best deals on The Rogue Prince of Persia game codes with our comparator ahead of release if you want to help the iconic Prince save Persia from a Hun invasion.
