The new Saints Row will arrive in February
After a year of talking mainly about cancelations and delays, the world of video games is slowly recovering. Gamescom 2021 has kicked off with plenty of exciting announcements, and the Opening Night Live event has left us with some unexpected surprises. Nobody anticipated that Volition and Deep Silver were working on a new version of Saints Row, but the popular action-adventure game is getting a reboot that will arrive quite soon to PC and consoles.
The Boss, Nina, Kevin, and Eli are the new 3rd Street Saints, and according to the Saints Row announcement video that you can watch below, they seem to be in the mood to bring some of their very particular justice to the streets of their city. Of course, they honor previous games in the series, fighting criminals in style and trying to take over their business with a good deal of craziness and humor. The announcement trailer does not show any gameplay footage, but it serves as an introduction for the new cast of characters in Saints Row, and it features many of the things that made games like Saints Row: The Third a genuine hit, including big guns, cars, and lots of action.
It's been seven years already since Saints Row 4 was released, so the fans of the series have received the announcement with joy. If the new Saints Row follows the steps of its predecessors, you should be quite free to tackle the events in the game however you please, especially outside of the main storyline. The new cast of characters will also bring some fresh air to the series, and it's also an excellent opportunity to introduce some novelties. Still, all the fans of Saints Row can rest assured that the game will be full of action.
The return of Saints Row is scheduled for February 22, 2022, and it will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Epic Games Store exclusively. On the occasion of the Saints Row announcement, you can grab Saints Row: The Third Remasted for free at Epic Games Store until next Thursday.
