An explosive event
Konami is celebrating 40 years of the arcade game franchise with the release of Super Bomberman R 2, which the company claims to have the biggest amount of content in the series. That does seem to be the case given the number of single and multi-player modes available compared to its predecessor.
The newest is “Castle Mode,” an unusual mode wherein a team of 15 tries to invade and occupy a castle defended by just one player. The invaders will attempt to open every chest in the castle while the keeper’s job is to leave at least one intact. Expect each round to be absolutely chaotic. You can also create custom Castle levels using the Stage Editor to share with the Super Bomberman community.
Next, we have the “Solo-bomb” mode, a story-driven single-player game where players meet and befriend a race called Ellons and help to save the universe.
The other modes are “Standard,” the classic Bomberman battle mode; “Grand Prix” where two teams are pitted against each other, and; “Battle Royale,” where 64 players fight to be Bomber One. You can also play a Grade match against an online opponent or go offline to play with friends using additional controllers.
