Stardew Valley receives new features

Stardew Valley is a farming simulation indie game that has been delighting more than 10 million fans since 2016. Although it's not a realistic simulator in any way it offers plenty of farming-related activities for the players and it lets them manage and develop their own farm as they engage in social activities with other residents of Stardew Valley. The developers have added quite a lot of new features that make the game even more fun in the last four years, but there are more coming in a new update that has just been released.

The 1.5 update for Stardew Valley includes a split-screen cooperative mode that lets you share your adventures with a friend. It also comes with a brand new Advanced Game Options menu that has been shown by developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone on Twitter.

After the 1.5 update is implemented, you will be able to create a new farm on the beach. Although it will function like any other farm in most aspects and you can plant and grow any crops in the sands, there is one major difference when you compare to farms in any other type of terrain: sprinklers won't work on the sand. This means that you will have to put more effort into watering your crops if you decide to plant them on the beach. The change is s significant that Eric Barone has commented it too:

“I know it might be controversial, that’s why I’m giving everyone forewarning. I kind of like watering by hand, myself. If you play through the entire update, by the end you might realise, in context, the sprinkler restriction isn’t that bad…”

Whether you like to water your crops by hand or not, update 1.5 is bringing some nice additions to Stardew Valley. It is already available on PC, and the console version will be available early 2021.
