A new party, a new threat: Solasta II continues the RPG journey

Solasta II expands the tactical RPG adventure fans loved

Solasta II continues the story of a series that quietly became a favorite among fans of tactical RPGs. Its predecessor, Solasta: Crown of the Magister, launched in 2021 and gained attention for how closely it captured the feeling of a tabletop campaign. Instead of flashy cinematic moments, the first game focused on strategy, positioning, and letting players build a party that truly worked together. Over time it built a strong community, especially among players who enjoy classic RPG mechanics and thoughtful turn-based combat.

The sequel picks up that legacy and pushes things further. Solasta II introduces a new adventure set on the continent of Neokos, where a mysterious threat is spreading and a group of heroes must figure out what’s really happening. The developers have also moved the game to Unreal Engine 5, which means the environments look much better and exploration feels smoother. Walking through forests, ruins, and cities feels less rigid than before, making the world easier to get lost in.

Tactical combat and party building take center stage

What really keeps people playing, though, is the combat and party management. Battles still take place in turn-based encounters where terrain and positioning matter a lot. Fighting on different heights, blocking enemies in narrow spaces, or using the right spell at the right moment can change the outcome of a fight quickly. Building your party is also part of the fun. Players can mix classes and abilities to create teams that match their preferred playstyle, whether that means balanced groups or more experimental combinations.

There’s also a strong sense of adventure in how the game unfolds. Conversations, exploration, and combat are constantly mixed together, so the experience rarely feels repetitive. Moving through a dungeon or discovering a hidden area can suddenly lead to a tough encounter or a new piece of the story, keeping players on their toes.

Early player reactions have been a bit mixed so far. Some fans are excited about the improvements and the deeper systems, while others feel the Early Access version still needs time to grow and polish. That’s not unusual for games at this stage, and many RPG players still see a lot of potential here.
