ASUS launches a Phantom Blade Zero-themed ROG NUC 16 gaming mini PC

ROG NUC 16 gets a stunning Phantom Blade Zero design in ASUS’ latest launch

Asus has teamed up with S-GAME to launch a Phantom Blade Zero-themed version of its ROG NUC 16 gaming mini PC, combining a compact design with high-end laptop hardware. The special edition packs an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and can be configured with up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 Laptop GPU, although its Chinese pricing puts it firmly in premium territory.

The collaboration gives the roughly 3-liter system a distinctive black-and-red makeover inspired by Phantom Blade Zero. Its semi-transparent front panel features the protagonist Soul, while crimson accents and blade-inspired patterns carry the game's aesthetic across the chassis. Measuring 282.5 × 189.5 × 56.5 mm, the mini PC retains the dimensions of the standard ROG NUC 16 and supports both vertical and horizontal placement.

Asus offers two configurations, each equipped with a 24-core Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and 32GB of DDR5-6400 memory. The entry-level model combines an RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with 12GB of GDDR7 memory and a 1TB SSD. Buyers opting for the flagship version get an RTX 5080 Laptop GPU with 16GB of GDDR7 memory and a 2TB SSD.

Keeping everything cool is Asus's QuietFlow system, which combines three fans with a shared vapor chamber. The company claims noise levels remain below 38 dBA during demanding gaming sessions. A built-in G-sensor also detects the system's orientation and adjusts cooling behavior accordingly.

Despite its small footprint, the ROG NUC 16 supports up to 128GB of RAM and offers two M.2 storage slots. Both memory and storage can be upgraded without tools. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7, Thunderbolt 4, 2.5Gb Ethernet, HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB ports. Power requirements differ by configuration, with the RTX 5070 model using a 280W adapter and the RTX 5080 version requiring 380W.

In China, prices range from $3,740 to $4,720 (approximately €3,216 to €4,059 / £2,768 to £3,493), depending on the configuration and retailer. Asus has yet to announce international pricing or availability. Phantom Blade Zero is scheduled to launch on PC and PlayStation 5 digitally on October 29 this year, with three physical editions coming later for PlayStation 5 in 2027.

The collaboration also includes matching peripherals, such as a keyboard, mouse, headset, and keycap set, alongside the ROG Strix XG27UCGR-G monitor. This 27-inch display supports dual modes, switching between 4K at 162Hz and 1080p at 485Hz. Aside from Asus, GameSir is also joining the celebration by launching the G7 Pro 8K PC × Phantom Blade Zero Edition controller as part of its gaming accessory lineup.
