AMD Radeon GPU prices could climb by another 10% starting in August
Buying a new Radeon graphics card may soon become even more expensive. According to a new report from Chinese industry outlet Board Channels, cited by VideoCardz, AMD has informed its board partners that the cost of Radeon GPU kits will increase by at least 10% starting in August, marking another round of price hikes as the industry continues to struggle with rising memory costs.
The increase applies to AMD's GPU kits, which combine the GPU die and its allocated VRAM before being shipped to partners such as ASUS, Sapphire, PowerColor, and other add-in-board manufacturers. While this doesn't directly translate into a 10% jump in retail pricing, it does increase one of the biggest costs involved in producing a finished graphics card.
This is also separate from reports earlier in July that suggested AMD was considering higher Radeon prices. According to the latest information, the company finalized the decision weeks ago but delayed its rollout. The increase is reportedly part of the broader 10-15% pricing adjustment AMD planned for the second half of 2026.
The report also claims AMD deliberately waited to see how NVIDIA would respond before making its move. NVIDIA has already increased GPU kit pricing for its own partners over the past few weeks, and AMD now appears to be following suit. It's another example of the two companies closely mirroring each other's pricing strategies throughout the year instead of making major moves independently.

That said, gamers shouldn't expect every Radeon card to immediately become 10% more expensive. GPU kits are only one part of the overall manufacturing cost, with coolers, PCBs, power delivery components, and shipping all contributing to the final retail price. Existing inventory will also likely remain at current prices until retailers and distributors sell through older stock that was purchased before the increase takes effect.
AMD hasn't confirmed which Radeon models will be affected, although cards with larger memory capacities, such as the Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB, could see bigger cost increases since they require more VRAM per kit. At the time of writing, the company has not publicly commented on the reported pricing changes.
For PC gamers hoping graphics card prices would finally stabilize, this report suggests the opposite may be happening. Ongoing shortages of DRAM and GDDR memory, fueled largely by AI infrastructure demand, continue to push manufacturing costs higher. With both AMD and NVIDIA now passing more of those costs onto their partners, consumers may soon find themselves paying even more for their next GPU upgrade.
