Outer Wilds will launch on next-gen consoles
Publisher Annapurna Interactive also has an event dedicated to revealing the latest news about the company's games. The Annapurna Showcase took place a few days ago, and it was full of announcements. One of the most interesting ones is about Outer Wilds, the acclaimed winner of the 2020 BAFTA Games Awards and Game of the Year 2019. This open-world adventure takes a unique approach to the action as it allows you to explore a solar system during the 22 minutes left before the sun becomes a supernova and destroys everything. The catch? Every time the galaxy is destroyed, you start all over again, but you can make use of all the information you gathered during previous runs to progress further in your adventure and try to find a way of escaping the time loop. During the journey, you discover the story of the ancient civilization that once colonized the system and learn their secrets.
Outer Wilds is quite different from most games, as the galaxy you get to explore is in constant change. The time you have to explore it may seem very brief, but as you progress through the game, you will be amazed by the huge number of things that you can do and the many places you can visit. Every run is an adventure by itself, but it's also a part of a bigger journey, making the whole game an intense experience in constant evolution.
Coming to next-gen consoles
Many players have discovered Outer Wilds already, but Annapurna Interactive will open it to new players with a release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles that will take place on September 15. This new version will feature graphics in 4K and 60fps. A Nintendo Switch version is in the works, but there is no official release date for it. As usual, you can use our comparator to check out the best video game deals and buy Outer Wilds cheap.
