Later-than-expected RTX 50 SUPER series launch now targets CES 2027

NVIDIA RTX 50 SUPER Series tipped for a later-than-expected CES 2027 launch

Rumors surrounding Nvidia’s RTX 50 SUPER series continue to shift, with a new report suggesting the refreshed GPUs may not arrive until CES 2027, despite earlier claims pointing to a late-2026 launch.

According to Chinese publication Benchlife, Nvidia is now expected to unveil its RTX 50 SUPER lineup at CES 2027 in early January. The report does not identify its source but suggests the information comes from industry contacts. This timeline differs from previous speculation, which placed the launch much earlier.

Conflicting reports have made the situation difficult to predict. Earlier this year, one rumor claimed the RTX 50 SUPER series would not launch in 2026 at all, while another suggested at least one model could arrive in Q3 2026. As a result, the latest CES 2027 claim should be treated cautiously until Nvidia provides official information.

Benchlife also states that the specifications for the RTX 50 SUPER lineup have remained unchanged since late 2026. The rumored refresh is expected to include SUPER versions of the RTX 5060, RTX 5070, RTX 5070 Ti, and RTX 5080.

A major upgrade would reportedly be the adoption of 3GB GDDR7 memory chips instead of the 2GB modules used in the standard cards. This would increase VRAM capacity by 50% across the lineup. If accurate, the RTX 5060 SUPER would feature 12GB of memory, the RTX 5070 SUPER 18GB, and both the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER and RTX 5080 SUPER 24GB. The refreshed cards are also expected to receive higher CUDA core counts and/or increased power limits to improve overall performance.

If Nvidia does wait until CES 2027, it would mark a notably later launch than previous SUPER refreshes. Historically, SUPER models have arrived roughly a year after the release of the original GPUs, serving as mid-generation upgrades. A 2027 debut would extend that gap considerably and raises questions about Nvidia’s broader roadmap, including when the next-generation RTX 60 series might eventually appear.
