Michel Ancel leaves the world of video games to devote himself to a new project
The news has all the potential to have the effect of a hammer blow for the fans. One of the biggest French video games creators has decided to retire. It is Michel Ancel who has announced the news today on his Instagram account.
Today is very special for me. After more than 30 years, I’ve decided to stop working on video games and fully focus on my second passion : Wild Life !
My new project takes place in the real world and consists in a wild life open sanctuary dedicated to education , nature lovers and ... wild animals.
Rayman's dad, as he is often called, has never been quite present in the social networks, but he shared information on his account about his two projects in progress, Beyond Good And Evil 2 and WiLD. It's been two years since last time he posted anything about them though. It seems that the reasons behind this are quite clear now: Michel Ancel has other projects.
However, he reassures the fans by revealing that the teams working on Beyond Good & Evil 2 and WiLD have been "autonomous for several months now and the projects are doing very well" and that we should see "beautiful things soon".
Therefore, the future release of these two projects seems to be guaranteed, but we still hope that the flagship license of our favorite Monegasque will not be forgotten. We are, of course, thinking of Rayman.
The news is quite sudden but the end of his message suggests that we should finally have news about those two ambitious projects soon, and we are quite glad of that. In the meantime, we wish Michel Ancel the best.
